Venture capital is, at its core, a people business. The strength of our founder relationships, the quality of our portfolio support, the trust we earn from investors—it all comes down to who is doing the work.
At NewView, we've been very intentional about building our team. We look for people who embody our values and carry them forward in everything they do. People who lead with integrity and build trust through honest action. Who collaborate without silos. Who operate with conviction and stay the course through cycles and uncertainty. Who check their egos and let the best ideas lead. And who roll up their sleeves to do the hard work that drives real impact.
The updates we’re sharing today reflect these principles in action.
First, we’re excited to announce two promotions.

Nick Bunick has been promoted to Partner
Since joining NewView six years ago, Nick has been a driving force behind many of our key AI, infrastructure, and security investments, including CloudWalk, Hightouch, Huntress, Island, Prepared (acquired by Axon), Sigma, Stord, Verkada, and Wellhub. Nick is known for his tireless work ethic, strong sense of ownership, and the deep trust he’s built with founders. This promotion recognizes the leadership and impact he's brought to the firm.

Cormac Dunn has been promoted to Principal
Cormac is a cornerstone of the NewView team. His thoughtfulness, precision, and attention to detail show up across everything he touches, from evaluating new investments to hands-on portfolio support. Cormac has played an instrumental role in many of our recent investments across AI, security, and vertical SaaS, including Halter, Lumin, and Prepared. A true team player, this promotion recognizes Cormac’s impact and the deep trust he’s earned across the firm.

We’re also excited to welcome Sandra Smith as an Operating Partner.
We've known Sandy since her time as CFO at Segment, and over the years she's become a trusted advisor to both NewView and many of our portfolio leaders, including serving on the board of our portfolio company, Reltio. Sandy brings a rare combination of global financial, legal, and technology operating experience to NewView Capital. Most recently she was CFO of Segment through its acquisition by Twilio. Prior to Segment, she was VP of Finance at Twilio, where she helped guide the company through its IPO as well as multiple private and public financings. Earlier in her career, she held senior finance roles at Akamai and served as outside counsel advising public companies on SEC matters, before shifting her focus to emerging, venture-backed technology companies. Sandy’s operating experience, sound judgment, and generosity with founders make her an invaluable addition to our team and community.
Congratulations to Nick and Cormac. And welcome Sandy. We’re proud to work alongside you.
